I'm having no luck what so ever downloading the windows 7 iso file.  My question is does anyone have a simple link to a direct download for Windows 7?  I'm trying to get my older laptop back up and running with no luck after being convinced that updating this old thing was a good idea  :-(  very bad idea anyways im i went to the Microsoft download and when i put my product key in when prompted to do so it just tells me that the os was installed from the manufacturer well ok so what that i had this problem one other time and cant for the life of me remember where i was able to obtain the iso file..   and then my next question is that i am currently having to use a live linux distro to even get this system to work some what but im just not that tech savvy to know how this os really works so is there something special ill have to do to create this bootable media from a linuz live OS..

Thanks Rick Ellis

Microsoft does not supply Windows 7 ISO downloads for OEM preinstalled operating system Product Keys for Dell, HP, etc. machines

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can borrow the exact same edition of Windows 7 Retail DVD and use your Product Key on the COA sticker to reinstall the operating system.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Or you can use this for preinstalled OEM or Retail Licenses. This is on a first come, first served monthly basis.

Download the correct ISO file and make your own disk and use the Product Key that is on the COA Sticker.

    https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-and-office-iso-download-tool

    Download: Windows ISO Downloader.exe

And here are instructions on how to burn ISO images to disk:

You change the Boot Order in the BIOS to be able to boot from your installation media:

    Then do a clean install:

The COA sticker is either on the underside of the Laptop or in the Battery Compartment.

With a Desktop it is either on the side, rear or top of the Computer Case.

Using the downloaded ISO file Method may require phone Activation.

The above method also will require you to go to your Computer Manufacturer's website > Support and Downloads Section > locate your Model Number and Operating System > then download and install the latest Drivers for it.

    You are welcome.

I removed your phone number, too; as none of us rings from here.

    It's all done online.

And scammers could harvest your phone number.

    Cheers.
