Windows 10 and Soundblaster Audigy FX missing 3 of 5 Altec Lansing Speakers

I just purchased a new custom computer with windows 10 Pro. 64 bit operating system Intel i9,32G Memory.

It has a SoundBlaster Audigy Fx card in it.

I attached it to my older Dell Altex Lansing ADA995 5,1 Lucasfilm THX certified speakers.

I can only hear from the front left/right.

I have updated drivers from the soundblaster site and had Troubleshooter also update.

I have also turned off the AORUS motherboard's Audio.

The plugs are in the correct order, the speakers have worked once during this exploration.

No matter what I have done, the center and two rear speakers do not test with either the Microsoft test for 5.1 or the SoundBlaster Application.

I read somewhere that many years ago there was a digital setting somewhere that helped someone. I don't see it anywhere today.

Does anyone have any ideas?  This is incredibly frustrating....

Jerry

    Thanks SmittyChat.

I've done all . I was somewhat hopeful when I noticed that on this new computer, the NVIDIA audio was updated (although nothing is connected to it).

    But no luck.

    uninstalled, reinstalled drivers

Ran compatibility mode - but the driver only allowed W8, W7, W XP. When running in either of those, it mentioned that "at a minimum windows Vista must be installed" and stopped.

Ran it as Administrator without compatibility ( I am an admin, but thought, why not)

Went through everything the website mentioned.

I can play the left & front in stereo, but when I switch to 5.1 and test, nothing from the center, rear and woofer.

I do have the Audigy control panel -  No matter if I use windows 10 testing or SoundBlaster Audigy testing, it shows that it is checking the Center, Rear and woofer, but there is no sound.

I have checked the cables. If I take out the woofer cable and "short it" with my finger (only) I can hear the clicking in the woofer. Likewise with the rear speakers.

I have installed and reinstalled drivers from Creative.

Creative told me to turn up the volume :)     DId that and although the stereo speakers work great - can hear anything from the other three/woofer

Windows 10 is pretty good, but this is driving me nuts.

    Any ideas?

Is there a card out there to give me 5.1 that would work with Windows 10 and Altec Lansing ada 995 5.1 THX?

    1.  Did you try Compatibility with Windows 7 or 8?

    1. Did you update drivers for the sound card?
    2. See Kempshott's post here. David Vair offers the solution of changing speakers from 5.1 to 7.1 in sound panel. You might start from the beginning of the thread to see if there is a solution offered that helps you.

    1. Control Panel > Troubleshooters > Run Audio Troubleshooter
    2. Uninstall then reinstall the driver in compatibility Mode

    Hello, Jerry,

Do you have a Control Panel where you can set it to 6 Channel Direct?
