Windows shuts down after showing "undoing changes made to computer"

Hi,

I tried to update windows on my laptop. When it was on 88% it shut down out of nowhere.

When it rebooted it showed the undoing changes made to computer screen, but it never finished and shut down again.

Now it is stuck in this loop where it boots to the undoing changes screen and then shuts down again.

Between the ASUS logo screen and the undoing changes there is a another frame for a splitsecond, looks like a command prompt or something.

After that the undoing changes screen is there for like 2 seconds.

I tried to get it in Windows Recovery by doing a hard shutdown twice. But it does not open on the third boot.

It just goes to the undoing changes screen for a splitsecond and then goes back to the loop above.

While updating I had my laptop on charge and there was plenty of storage left.

My laptop-model is : Asus FX504GD-DM030T

    Hi, Ydo

My name is Jeffrey and I am an Independent Advisor. I would be happy to help you today.

I know you said you already tried to enter Safe Mode but try as follows:

Press and hold the power button for 5 to 10 seconds to perform a complete shutdown

Do this three or more times.

Windows will start in the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced options - Reset this PC

Then you will have 3 options:

    Keep my files and applications

    Keep my files

    Not save anything

Select the option that suits your needs and click Reset

If after executing these steps you still cannot log in, you can create a Windows USB to repair it.

I recommend you look for another computer to create a USB and repair Windows

I managed to fix it by doing a clean install. Will have to change all the settings and programs back but at least it works.

All the other suggestions sadly didnt work.

I tried getting it in windowsRE with the hard shutdowns.

After the second shutdown it shutsdown on its own quite fast. Then it reboots, I guess its trying to go into RE.

But it just gets stuck in the same loop then.

I tried plugging in an usb with the media files. But I cant get it into the boot menu either. It doesnt seem to respond to F8 in the asus loading screen.

I just discovered that asus has different keys, Esc seems to let me boot from the usb.

But when following the directions: press yes for continuing story, no for a clean install.

I pressed yes, it said to remove usb. after that it just goes back into the loop.
