Miracast freezes and sometimes randomly slows down net speed below 1mbps when connected to Samsung TV

I've been trying to get an answer to this from literally everyone, I contacted my TV's, tablet's and wireless adapter's manufacturer, no one could solve my problem, you guys are my last resort, here are the details:

  • When I'm casting my screen onto my TV, the wifi connection speed on the tablet I use slows down to between 50-60mbps from 400, however, the real problem is that it frequently drops below 1 or even to 0 for minutes at a time, making it impossible to browse the web and miracast at the same time.
  • I'm regularly disconnected from my router when using miracast.
  • The connection between my tablet and TV randomly freezes in a strange way, everything on the screen becomes unresponsive and I also don't get any sound when this happens, however, the pointer does not freeze, so I'm definitely not disconnected.
  • Sometimes small parts of my screen turn pink indicating data loss.

I don't necessarily experience these things at the same time, for all I know, they could even be unrelated.

Things that I've tried so far:

-Updating my wireless adapter driver.

-Updating my bios (just to be sure)

-Turning off RSC

-Disabling power saving for my adapter

-Checking the wireless connection logs and system event logs. I couldn't find any events that might be related.

I'm running the latest windows version on my Lenovo Miix 510 (has 8260 intel dual band adapter) and the TV I'm trying to connect to is a Samsung UE55RU7402.

I also managed to reproduce 2/4 problems in 30 mins when I was using a friend's device (didn't have time to test more), the internet slowing down and pink patches on the screen. That laptop also runs the latest windows and has an intel 8265 adapter which is very similar to mine.

T

he problems do NOT occur when I'm connected via my Android phone.

It seems like I was quick to assume it improved the slowing, unfortunately, that still happens regularly.

    Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I tried out changing the settings you mentioned and spent a few hours using them, and a few things did change:

I haven't experienced any slowing in net speed, but I will spend some more time with it to make sure that's solved.

The freezing is definitely not solved, but it did change a little. Now I sometimes do get sound while the screen is frozen, and some other times I lose sound when the screen is not frozen, this is completely new. Note that this is in addition to the original problem, so the complete freezing while I'm able to move the pointer is still present.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues with Miracast and WIFI connectivity on your PC.

One of the things that you can try is changing the TCP settings and see if that helps.

    1. Press Windows + S key together to open Search.
    2. Now type CMD and select Run as administrator.
    3. Accept the UAC prompts.
    4. Type in the following commands one by one and hit Enter:

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

netsh int tcp show global 5. Restart the PC

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
