My caps lock was working when touched for on or off, now is not working, the local repair shop told me to press caps lock & Num Lock for 5 secs, this does not work? Any answers please? I'm using Windows 10 home.

Hi my name is Ross, I'm an independent advisor. I'd be happy to help with your issue.

You could try toggle caps lock using the on screen keyboard, here are instructions on how to access:

No problem glad to help, I will close this ticket off now as you at least have a workaround to use at the moment.

I’m glad it is at least working with the in screen keyboard, have you tried another keyboard just in case there is a hardware issue?

All your toggle key settings sound correct am I unsure why there would be no sound. You can try set this again by holding just num lock for 5 seconds or longer.

    Thanks Ross,

Everything else is working on my keyboard, so don't think it should be that, as the sound was working a short time ago. Don't have another keyboard to try. Have already tried 5 seconds or longer on num lock, to no avail. I like this keyboard, as it has a 'hibernate' key to press, which is quicker than opening 'start' & 'power' button. Thanks for trying anyway, I will go back to the computer shop near me, to find out if he has any further answers for me.

Thanks Ross, for your quick reply. I don't want to use the 'on screen' keyboard, although it is working on this fine! The on screen keyboard is fine for using security sign ins, but is too slow for general typing. I want to use the physical one plugged into my desktop computer, it was working when I got it back from the computer shop, but is now not working again. Chap in shop told me to press Num Lock & Caps Lock together for 5 secs, have tried this & also Num Lock on own for up to 8 secs, no sounds. All my 'Ease of Access' > Keyboard > 'Use Toggle Keys' are switched ON + ticked 'Allow shortcut key to start Toggle Keys  to press Num Lock 5 secs., none of these work, also gone into Control Panel > Ease of Access > 'Make keyboard easier to use' Turn on Toggle Keys is ticked, but still no tone when I press Caps Lock, Num Lock or Scroll lock. No sounds. My audio is working fine.

Any more answers to this problem would be helpful, as I'm always catching the Caps Lock when I'm typing & don't see that I'm in capitals! Please help me?
