My mobo doesn't support DDR4?
Tried each stick individually, then as pairs, swapped them as pairs also. I have Corsair Vengeance 4GB x 4
Still only 8GB seen as total memory on "post".

Hello,
I recently installed Windows 10 from Win 7 after upgrading my hard drive to a solid state drive. Since the upgrade Window only see's half of the installed RAM. I have read numerous articles and tried many different fixes and suggestions but to no avail.
Is it possible there is an issue with the latest Windows 10 OS and the motherboard or chipset I use?
Please Help.

Hi Douglas,
When you look at the system information option of windows it will report the physical amount of ram seen by windows.
And should be 16Gb.
If you find that 16Gb is not reported as the total physical memory fitted.
But the bios reports 16Gb of memory detected.
It means that the configuration of windows has been capped to see, or use only a set amount of physical memory in it`s configuration settings.
To check if the memory windows uses is capped.
Click on start.
In the search bar type : MSCONFIG.
Press enter.
A new window will open.
Click on the boot tab at the top of the new window.
Then click on the Advanced option tab.
A new window will open.
To the top left you will see a tick box for maximum memory.
If there is a value typed into the box bellow it remove all of the numbers.
Then untick the maximum memory box if it is ticked.
Click OK
Then click apply.
Restart the system.
Let windows load.
And again open up windows system information.
If it says Installed physical memory fitted as 16Gb.
Your problem is solved.

Hi Douglas,
Can you please verify your current Operating System Bit?
Is it 32 or 64 bit?
32-bit processors and operating systems, in theory,
can access up to 4GB of memory.
Every byte of RAM requires its own address, and the processor limits the length of those addresses.
A 32-bit processor uses addresses that are 32 bits long.
There are only 4,294,967,296, or 4GB possible for 32-bit addresses.
That might be the reason why the other 4GB of memory can't be used.
Hope this clarified your issue.
Thanks and regards,
Thanks David.
That just confirms everything I presumed on my last post.
As I have swapped all 4 memory sticks and all work, I am unsure how to proceed.
It feels like my only option is buying new hardware.
