Downloading Prime Video app on Windows 10 from Microsoft Store

At "The Microsoft Store"...

It seems by the looks of it I am not alone in wondering if the Geeks in charge of the Store are asleep at the switch. Like many of you I have been searching for a way to get a stand alone (I do not like the Browser Version) app to install 'Prime Video' on my Windows 10 PC and Laptop. As a paid subscriber I can enjoy the Android APK on my NVIDIA Shield TV device, I can enjoy the App Store App on my iPad! But,,, as many of you have experienced I CANNOT get an App to download and install from 'The Microsoft Store' no matter how many ways I've tried!!??...

Once I make my selection I am directed to another page which asks me to do something which I am then unable to do namely to 'Select the device you want to install to'. I have two Windows Devices, my PC and My Laptop. I know the system recognizes this because after a wild goose chase I can get to a place which acknowledges my account. BUT,,, in 'The Store' I can neither do this nor 'Get information on your devices'!!... It's Maddening!! So What? Has Microsoft run out of the money needed to pay competent Administrators who will ensure their product works for it's consumers as advertised? Or,,,

Are they asleep at the switch??...

Peter...

    Hi Peter,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand your query related to Prime Video app download on your PC.

During my research, I found that the app is currently available for Xbox and that might the reason you are getting the option to select the device on which you want to install the app.

Since the app is developed by Amazon, you may need to contact Amazon Prime support for the availability of app on Windows 10 platform. I hope this answers you query

    I have!!...

Look at it another way. You put up a ‘House for Sale’ sign on your front lawn and in fine print at the bottom which states ‘Call XYZ for more information’ and prospective shoppers call only to find out,,, it’s for a house in a completely different location!... As a shopper, would you be annoyed by the misleading information? Because that’s exactly what it’s like and whoever made up the listing in the Store should know better! It’s not our job to smarten them up!...

    Hi Peter,

    Thank you for replying.

As mentioned in the previous post, the publisher has not released the app for Windows 10. Currently the app is available only for Xbox One and Surface Hub. You can refer the screenshot below.

Ideally, when the publisher or the app developer releases the app for the particular device or operating system, then only it is available on Microsoft Store for download. Since the app is not released by the publisher for Windows 10, that is the reason we are asking you to get in touch with the publisher i.e., Amazon.

    My reply?...

Take a look at your screen shot!... Either mark it clearly as you’ve explained in your email to me or don’t list it in the store where those like me would waste their time without knowing!...

Do you see it described there??... If it’s under system requirements only, it’s misleading!

    Case closed...

You seem to have missed the point!

The LINK to select the devices to install to does not work!

The LINK to get information on my devices does not work!

Neither goes anywhere and rather than passing off the responsibility for fixing the problem onto the subscriber, I am suggesting either The Microsoft Store address the problem or quit offering the app altogether! I’ve read the forums and I’m not alone!

I have run across similar glitches when attempting to select other apps of interest and it’s annoying!

Does no one monitor these things!
