irmon and irda are windows services.
You need to install a (specific ?) driver for your irda receiver

I want to use my old remote control to pause and play music and videos like I did before.
With one of windows updates a few years ago it stopped working and I don't want to throw away my devices because of windows update.
I've read that a lot of people have the same problem and I can't make it to work either, se links for more info about problem:
https://www.windows10forums.com/threads/usb-irda-adapter-doesnt-work-with-windows-10.4714/page-2
Or just google "IRDA Windows 10"
I cant make sense of all try outs for solutions and I would like to know how I will get this IRDA driver to work on my Windows 10 Home, V1903.
If there is no way, can you please link me older Windows 10 versions when this was working?
I can stop windows update then and use my remote, it's fine.

I hade the same problem with my irda transmitter for the Scubapro Galileo Sol dive computer
Have you started the irmon service ?
If irmon and irda are STOPPED, try to execute (with elevated privileges) :
C:\sc start irmon
irda service will start automatically, it depend's on irmon)
Check the services state.
This was OK for me.
Another think you can do after that, is to change the irmon starting mode from Manual to Automatic on the Services Manager.
I don't even have irmon nor irda. Would be nice with links to services to install if needed.
