I can't access the "printing preferences" window. Just flash and disappear on screen.

However, I can access settings on Google, IE, Microsoft Edge (e.g.: to set color or non-color printing)

Windows 10 Pro N - version 1909.

My printer is XP-204 Epson.

    Hi

My name is Lester and hopefully, this will help answer your question, this is actually an issue before with the Spooler, moreover follow the steps below and I hope this fix the issue:

    Step 1: Rename 3 folder

    1. Press Windows Key + R and type services.msc

    2. Look for Print Spooler and click on Stop Service

    3. Press Windows Key + R and type spool

    4. Open spool folder and click Continue on the prompt

    5. Go to drivers > x64 and look for "3" folder

    6. Rename 3 folder to 3.old

    7. Start print spooler service in services.msc

If this will work from the above solution I suggest to do an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Note: before doing this make sure to create a restore point: https://support.microsoft.com/en-hk/help/402753...

    1. go to this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    3. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.
    4. On the What do you want to do? page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.
    5. After downloading and installing, it should fix the issue.

Hello! My name is Marco, I am an Independent Advisor. I will do my best to help you :)

You can go and try to repair the software of your printer in

control panel> programs> uninstall a program, then find the software of your printer, click on it and if you have the choice, do "repair" if not "uninstall and reinstall it and check if this bug is still there

can I have a little more information please? What procedure do you use to open the settings, for example: in the software or directly by the printer icon in control panel? did you try to see if there was an update of the software?

you can also try a windows update, it will not be wrong.

Thanks Marco! Before contact Epson support, I have tried this procedure without success. Epson support claimed the problem is from microsoft.
