Have you tried win key + p for projection and checked where the projection was going?
File Explorer Opens but is not visible on the Desktop (Windows 10)
I open file windows explorer with Win+E and it is visible in the task bar, but it is not visible in the desktop and I cannot Alt+Tab to it. It appears to be on a different screen that I cannot access.

2019-12-30T17:34:45+00:00 It appears that the computer still had a connection to an HDMI monitor. Windows explorer was opening on the inactive second screen. I disconnected the HDMI cable and the screen reset and windows explorer was back on the desktop again. Not the most complicated of problems really.
