windows 10 - 100% Disk usage - what is the process and what is it doing?

There are 100s of articles about this issue and many offer solutions that require trial and error tests of many steps.

I have tried a few and none of them, such as the combo Chrome-Skype, and others, but they do not help..

It is like trying anything that might or might not be the root cause and see if we get lucky !.

That is not a good way of solving this problem.

The question remains, how to determine which process or processes are the ones that cause the disk usage to be 100% or close to it?.

When none of the individual processes in Task Manager seem to be the culprit.

What is the relationship between the MB/s of the processes and the usage %.

is 6.5 MB/s the equivalent to 100% Disk?

Some of the highest in task manager seem tobe xagt.exe which reaches between 3 MB/s and 6.0 MB/s or some more.

Most of the time even a sum of 2.7 MB/s shows 100% Disk.

Is there a way or a tool that clearly identifies the process(es) and what usage they are actually doing with the Disk.?

Thanks

When? .. for how long? W10 uses many background tasks based on your 'usual' activity hours that can be specified. It goes up suddenly checking malware or other maintenance tasks then calms down to nothing. Interesting to check to see just the sophistication of the system sometimes a bit excessive …
