Hello Microsoft Community,

I Have a HP Envy m6 1117TX Laptop with Intel core i7-3632QM 2.20GHZ (bought 2012)

8GB Ram, 750GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 7670 Graphics card

Currently running Windows 10-1903-18362-?  64 bit (not sure of last numbers as I updated today)

Printer is a HP Photosmart C5380 All-in-One (bought 2012) still works well.

Couple of months ago I had a issue with computer and had to reinstall Windows which removed most of my of programs.

I have managed to reinstall most of my programs with the exception of the original HP Photosmart C5300 series program as I need it to print on printable DVD Discs which my printer used to do.

I have tried several free disc printing software, but none was as good as the HP one.

I also tried searching the internet for an answer to my problem and found out that HP have discontinued the Photosmart program.

Although is seems you can download versions of HP program but my problem is that Windows will not recognise the HP Bing Bar required to operate the program.

I have tried to find a resolution to fix my problem but I am 70 y's old and not a tech savvy with programs.

The reason I would like to get the HP programme is that it worked before and I need it to print my home DVD printable discs.

Can anyone please help? I know by the amount of threads on this subject it has probably been answered, but I cant find it.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for update, will check alternatives and let you know.

In the meantime I'm having a few issues with my laptop.

May have to re-install windows and all programs, not sure yet, will make a few more checks.

May take some time as I don't want to destroy the old Laptop.

Thank for your efforts, I will let you know how I get on.

    Regards,

    Kev

Hi KTM. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

Did you reinstall the full feature software for the printer from here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic...

This should replace the Photo program as it has done every time I've ever reinstalled HP printer software, unless you jump through a hoop to deselect it during the process.

Since the latest software is 2015 I think it will still install and work, but if not run it in Compatibility mode as shown here:

    https://www.groovypost.com/howto/run-old-softwa...

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

    Hi Greg, Kev (KTM) here,

Thank for prompt reply, much appreciated & surprised.

Yes I did download from the https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservic... must be about 20 times now.

Each time I get the Bing Bar not supported by Windows 10 message, Tried the update without success.

Also when I try and download Photo creations from the Solution Centre Page I get the 80004005:1 error code say try uninstalling & reinstall.

I also tried the Compatibility mode without success.

Attached are the images of the problem only I can't get is the Bing Bar not Windows Compatible.

I'm not getting the full item buttons on the Solution Centre

    Appreciate your help.

Kev, I'm afraid the Bing Bar may be the deal breaker here. But if you want to find someone who may have solved this I'd ask in HP forums which is more specific to your needs here and is also good enough it's one of the few I refer people to. Go here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

Otherwise I can suggest some other recommended Photo programs.

First among these is Windows own Photos app which has may hidden features you can review here:

    https://www.howtogeek.com/320942/how-to-use-win...

Other photos apps which are well liked and recommended to try here:

    https://www.windowscentral.com/best-photo-editi...

Let me know what you find. I'm here to help until the problem is resolved.
