As stated by others, the downloads from Windows update are safe. If you run into compatibility issues, the update can be reversed. The update in question is motherboard chipset driver (an extension for the Intel Management Engine) for the hardware in your computer. It is best to allow it to update.

Rest assured if that is being downloaded from the Windows Update process, you can be sure that is safe . . .
From the Windows Update catalog, the only reference to Intel Extension(s) are to that Intel Software Guard or to Intel UHD Graphics
