I understand windows is still allowing free upgrades to win 10. it says from win 7 or 8 but im still running xp, but i figured ill give it a shot. xp is so old and not supported anymore that they probably didn't list it because who still uses it (this guy). So i downloaded all the files needed to do it and started to install it and got to where it ask's for my product key......Microsoft didn't give me a new one when they gave me the software, although it says it expires in 24 hrs, so there has to be some kind of key involved. so i try to input my xp key but its 5 digits short.. apparently win 7 and 8 have these 5 extra numbers. I later found a site explaining to use your 7 or 8 key.
Hey Microsoft support im trying to upgrade, if your letting win 7 and 8 guys upgrade for free still, why not us xp guys? can you give me a key???
There never was a free upgrade offer from Microsoft from XP to Windows 10.
If you want Windows 10, you have to buy Windows 10.

First thing to do is to make sure that you have the correct system requirements and that your Computer Manufacturer supplies the correct Drivers for 10 for your Model Number.
"Windows 10 System Requirements"
https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/3884/windows-10-system-requirements
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/windows-10-specifications#sysreqs
If you read those Microsoft's system requirements for 10, you will find that if you only go on them you will be sadly disappointed in performance.
You should at least double what they say.
