I'm getting a pop up saying that my computer may be damaged, outdated or corrupted. The popups look legit with windows symbols, etc. I have to turn my computer off to get rid of it. It happened again this morning and I clicked run to get more info and this Reimage thing came up. I shut the computer down immediately. The computer 8.1 system and Defender updates daily. Is this legit? If not how can block it?

I posted the question in the Malwarebites forum and that was their response. Thanks
If you install the free Malwarebytes you keep it.
Thanks for your quick response. The first thing I did was go into the Control Panel. It wasn't there. I'm very familiar with what's in the Control Panel and didn't find anything I didn't recognize. Next, I went into the C drive and did a search. It was in a few places there. I deleted them all. The last scan came up clean. I can't remember installing any free downloads except maybe trial games from well known companies. I did a free Malwarebytes scan in the past so I'm not sure if they will let me do it again. As far as typical signs of adware listed I haven't noticed any of them. There so may ads on web pages it would be impossible to know if they're supposed to be there or not. This Reimage thing has happened once before. I may try this adblock.
I know about totally free Malwarebytes but when I go to the website it compares them but the only thing offered is Premium. I can't click on Free and change it!
