I am trying to install the Fitbit app on my windows laptop. I have Windows 10 and I have been able to download the app. However, I can not install. When I click "install" nothing happens. I have also spoken with Fitbit and they also concluded my laptop meets all the requirements, and thought this might me a Microsoft issue. What could possibly be the issue?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand your concern as you are unable to install Fitbit app on your PC. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

    • What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
    • What is the make and model of the PC?
    • Did you try downloading the Fitbit app from Microsoft Store?
    • What is the error message/code you are getting, while installing the app?
    • Are you aware of any recent changes, prior to this issue?

We did repro the issue and we are able to install it successfully from Microsoft Store as shown below.

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these two steps and check if that helps to fix the issue.

    1. Run the troubleshooter: Select the Start    button, and then select Settings> Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.
    2. Reset the Microsoft Store cache: Press the Windows + R Keyto open the Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi,

Thank you for your response along with the screenshot.

We would suggest you to perform these steps and check if you are able to install Fitbit from Microsoft Store.

    1. Press Windows + X key and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Copy and paste this command and press enter: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Close the PowerShell window and restart the PC
    4. Then check if you are able to install Fitbit.

Also, perform the steps as referred in this article:  https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027498/microsoft-store-fix-problems-with-apps

Once you run the troubleshooter, try installing FitBit app from the Microsoft Store

Also check in new user account. Follow the steps from the article Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10 to create a new user account and check if you are facing the same issue with the installation of Fitbit app.

You may also want to try the application from Fitbit website for Fitbit app for Windows PC: http://www.fitbit.com/in/start?platform=win

Let us know how it goes.

There is no error code. This is the screen when I search for the app in the microsoft store:

When I click "install" nothing happens. I have not previously downloaded this app. I do not know why it says I already have this app. I do have the app on my android phone.
