Hi,

Wonder if anyone can assist.

Have been using a 3 network dongle for a few years and had no problem. But the last time that tried to top-up the dongle to use the it kept getting - error 619 -

Did a search and found - netsh winsock reset; followed the instructions below and received a message that the command had been successful and the computer needed to be rebooted. Did that and when the dongle was attached got error 619; port closed.

Tried this a couple of times, removed the 3 network and reloaded, turned off the fire-wall; nothing but port closed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Press “Windows key”, start typing “command prompt” on the start screen.
  2. Command Prompt” will appear in the list, now “Right click” on command prompt.
  3. Click on “Run as administrator”, if you get a UAC prompt click on “Yes”.
  4. Now type the command “netsh winsock reset”, press “Enter”.

    Hi north-of-Caspian,

specifies the exact model of the dongle because we cannot see it from here ... It also specifies the use of the dongle.

    Hi north-of-Caspian,

Thanks for your reply, don't think this is the problem as the dongle did work last year using the same system.

However, will at some point take it to a computer repair shop and get it updated and looked at.

    Thanks

    Hi north-of-Caspian,

you should try to update the firmware or change the dongle with another different model or contact ZTE Technical Support and be confirmed if the firmware in use of the dongle is updated.

    Hi franco d'esaro,

Thanks for the advice but, have done that before. Before posting here checked forums to see if anyone had this problem. That was one piece of advice.

So have carried that out a number of times. Also, turned off the firewall etc but still keep getting error 619.

The dongle works, went to device manager and clicked on hardware. It passed.

    Thanks
