Hi I have a Asus tablet transformer mini I bought online and I am trying to do a factory reset on it because it isnt charging. When I attempt to do it, it request a password that I do not have. Any way to reset the password or reset the system without it being on? It is running windows.

Thank you so much, I was able to get into the bios but anytime I try to load the tablet it gives me this message. Im guessing I have to reinstalwindows on it, any idea how I would go about it? ![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/ff269482-5f94-443a-bbe3-2bd9d2af6d26?platform=QnA"https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/832f01f0-8939-48e1-acfb-a94cd95a0bbb?platform=QnA" rel="ugc nofollow">

    Hi,

You need to create boot media, you can create a bootable Windows 10 install USB using the media creation tool from the download page. From there if you connect it to the device and boot to the USB from here you can reinstall windows.

    Hi JohnYoung020,

Where is it asking you for the password? Is Windows asking you for a password or is the ASUS BIOS asking you for one?

Please let me know and we can troubleshoot further.

Great. Here is what I received from ASUS

Restart computer, press F2 (or Esc) key repeatedly, when the password text box pops up, press "Alt + R" at the same time. 3. When the "Enter rescue password" window appears, type in the following password: ALAA4ABA, then you will get into BIOS. Set back the date and other settings.

I believe it might be the Asus Bios, it just turns on and a little blue box that says password pops up.
