Photostick will not open anymore.  I have used several times.  When I plug it in, it says on the finder that the disk was improperly ejected.  Help please.

Are you referring to a USB flash drive.

It could be faulty by either not being ejected correctly or simply developing a fault.

Do you have photos on it you would like to recover or do you just want to format and start again. A format will remove anything on the drive.

Does it suggest scanning the disk or does I just give you the error message.

When you remove a USB flash drive it's best to select it first (using the icon in the bottom right hand notification area of the taskbar) and select eject the disk. This ensures that it is not being used when you remove it.

If the drive has been corrupted in this way then it may not be recoverable. First thing to try is with the USB drive inserted and with the drive letter verified, close File Explorer and open a PowerShell (Admin).

At the prompt type chkdsk [drive_letter] /r where the drive_letter is the letter shown in File Explorer for the USB drive. (example D:)

When photostick is inserted in a USB drive - It says error, then asks for it to be scanned - after scanning it says windows was unable to repair the drive.

So I re-inserted the photostick and passed on the error scan - it then reads PLEASE INSERT A DISC INTO REMOVABLE DISK. After that it just shuts down.

Other message it has read out is - UNHANDLED EXCEPTION IN MANAGED CODE SNAP-IN.
