I am an independent advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I would be happy to help you out with this.
On the following HP Forums thread, some people have had success by:
Go to Device Manager by typing this in the search box.
When Device Manager comes up, look for the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.
There should be an item called IDT Audio.
Right click on IDT Audio, and select "Update Driver"
Windows may automatically find the correct driver.
OR, you can download the IDT Audio installer here:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp6...
You can go to Device Manager, under the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, right click on IDT audio and then Uninstall. You can remove the current driver if there is a check box, then uninstall it and restart your computer.
Then run the file sp63555.exe above.
