Peripheral bluetooth device

Greetings:

  What are your thoughts:

During a search of potential conflicts between software in windows 7 and windows 10 I saw in my device manager two items with question marks. Actually, I'm not sure it was a question mark but it was a yellow warning.

This was on an icon I could not even begin to say what it is. It is not an easily recognizable one. Beneath it in the tree there were two others -- separate -- that said bluetooth peripheral device and the yellow mark.  This is way below my bluetooth, the regular bluetooth setting that comes with my notebook, and rarely used.

In my bar that goes across the bottom of my HP probook,  in the bluetooth icon, I opened it and the only thing is there is an icon for my cellphone. A long time ago, a few times I used bluetooth to transfer music files, but otherwise don't need to have the phone in there.

Anyway, back to the device manager. I tried to get an updated driver, which is one of the options. It said there was no updated driver to be found.

The other option is to get rid of it. which I am GLAD to do at this point.

might this be conflicting software and does anyone have any idea what that icon in the device manager is?

I thought I better get a screen shot. I hope I can upload it.

  What are your thoughts?

I am going into my third try on upgrading to windows 10.

I have windows 7 pro 64 bit, trying to upgrade to windows 10 pro.

Last question: would it be better to upgrade to windows 10 home?

SORRY i had to re-shoot it because I could NOT FIND IT so i just put it on my desk top.

ALSO I DID NOT PUT IT IN THAT ODD SPOT, IT JUST WENT THERE. I COULD SCREAM SOMETIMES WITH THIS.

ADD: well I deleted the phone from the bluetooth device, and the yellow marks are gone.

I am again going to try to upgrade ........

wish me luck

Gina

To try and find out what Device this is or was.

Right Click on these Devices showing the Warning and select Properties.

    What does it state ???

    Open the Details Tab.

    Scroll down to Hardware Ids.

Using those strings do a Google Search on the item.

    OR : Post those strings.

Wondering if this could be related to a Uninstalled or Unplugged Blue Tooth Device, ...  as i see some other listed Blue Tooth Radios.

Think back as to all the Blue Tooth Devices that you had previously connected but may now be unplugged.

Plug these items back in ONE at a time and see if the Device Manager clears the Blue Tooth Peripheral Device warnings.

It could even be a phone / printer or other such devices.

    Otherwise :

Right Click and Uninstall / remove.

Reboot the computer or refresh the Device Manager.

When it restarts or refreshes and it shows up again then you will need to look further.

I found out it is my cell phone, which I used ages ago to transfer music files from my notebook to the phone, by bluetooth. I deleted it and the yellow questions are gone. Alas, that wasn't what was keeping me from upgrading to windows 10 but still working on that.
