I have installed Ark: Survival Evolved on my PC through the windows 10 store. Upon starting the game, it instantly crashes, not even making it past the splash screen.

Follow these steps to repair the Microsoft Store and Apps:

launch powershell
Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

You have to select (Yes to All)

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Restart your system
