I have a hard copy of the 007 Nightfire game from 2002. I can install it and when I try to play it nothing happens. I've tried different compatibility settings for the game with Windows xp.. ect. Is there a patch or a fix anyone knows of to make this work on Windows 10?? All i can find online from fourms is that it isn't compatible with windows 10... Also the PC version was different than the gamecube and PS2 versions that were released so those aren't an option either. Please help, I miss this game so much.

    Hi entering

I am sorry, you are not going to be able to get that game working, you will find many 'fixes' and to be honest, they won't work and just add to the frustration.

Any games that predate Windows 7 will not run successfully on Windows 10, you have tried all the correct fixes (Compatibility Mode . . etc) and if those did not work, then I am sorry, there is no workaround . ..

I download a patch from www.nightfirepc.net but the game only ran once after I exited the game it crashed when loading level one. It has something with the video codec.

    Hello, entering... player_1!

I think that the largest problem with this game is that, while modern PCs are able to run the game itself, it seems some operating systems don't support the CD check system that some games such as Nightfire use. You attempt to run the game and nothing happens because the executable cannot process the CD check and the process never really starts. I discovered this myself after noticing that the game doesn't ask for the CD when attempting to run the game without the CD. I'm not a programmer so I have no proof of this, but this seems to be the case. Unfortunately, I cannot point you towards a solution.

For improving performance, there are numerous patches (e. g. 1.1, 5.80) for the game. Some of them might work and others won't.

I wish you good luck with your attempts! Hopefully this game will be released in digital stores someday.

That's a bummer. Do you know if it's a possibility to make my laptop a virtual machine running the Windows XP OS and play it that way?

    Hi entering

Yes, you can run Windows XP on a VM in Windows 10, you can install something like VirtualBox if you have a spare Windows XP licence . . .
