Thank you! If that is the case, then our next step is to re-install Microsoft edge. Here is the link where to download MS Edge - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge.
Randomly no internet service despite network access
Hey All I've been working on this all day. I got up this morning for a meeting and discovered on my I had no internet connect. I was able to login to email, Zoom, and our school's VPN just not Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. Every so often if I get lucky I might eventually connect to one website but usually not the case. And when I run windows network diagnostics i get:
Windows can't communicate with the device or resource (primary DNS server)
I have tried literally everything I've found to solve this issue and I'm out of options. Please someone help. I've tried:
- updating network drivers, uninstalling and installing network drivers
- Went into change adapter settings so that IPv4 and IPv6 were both on obtaining IP and DNS automatically. Then I tried using the whole preferred DNS server 8.8.8.8 and nothing
- Did a bunch of clearing and resetting in the command window (ipconfig/flushdns, ipconfig/registerdns, ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew, netsh int ip reset)
- Did a deep virus scan
5) Made sure DPCP Client and DNS Client are running in services.msc
- Reset the router, the computer, used a different Ethernet cable
- Went in to edit the Hosts file and deleted it
8) Open Settings app, click Network & Internet > Status > Network reset link.
- Uninstalled Chrome and reinstalled
I don't understand why it stopped working out of nowhere. I went to bed browsing the web. I woke up and this happen.
I'm on Windows 10 x64
Ram: 16GB, Storage: 500gb m.2 ssd (primary), 1tb HHD and a 250gb SSD --- I do a lot of coding and programming
Anti-virus - Kaspersky Internet Security but I went through all of its settings and disabled the firewall and same internet issue persist.
Please does anyone know what to do ?? It seems if I restart my PC and open up internet explorer right away I get a minute or 2 of web browsing. And oddly enough if I were to open chrome typed in a webpage (mlb.com), it won't load but if I open internet explorer up it sometimes would "kick" chrome into finding the webpage. But thats short lived. So please any help you have

Thank you for your response! I've completely disabled Kaspersky and the same problem persist. Google Chrome doesn't load pages, Microsoft Edge seems to work at times... Would Microsoft Edge be blocking or affecting Google Chrome?

2020-03-25T10:02:38+00:00 Hi,
I am a school teacher and am having similar issues. My internet stopped working on the morning of 23rd March. I had been browsing internet until late evening on 22nd with no problems at all. I am using an HP SPECTRE (over 4 years old) and have never had any connectivity issues. My wifi in right hand corner is saying I am still connected to my nowtv broadband and all other devices in the house are connected (two phones and an Apple Mac.) However, I cannot connect to internet explorer, edge, chrome or bing. They open and try to connect to www.view-search.com (internet explorer) and then fails to load. Normally before this it would then connect to google. I am able to Remote Desktop onto my school system and this works fine and I can connect to the internet. However, this is not ideal as I do not want to do my personal browsing through the school system. I have tried all of the quick fixes that John has tried above and more. when I run the trouble shooter it states 'windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings.' I have googled this and tried all of the various fixes from various sites (including most of Johns) and still no joy. My email randomly updated itself yesterday and I thought it was fixed- but then has not updated again since. I have removed my antivirus (bit defender) and have also tried to restore to a week ago when it was all ok but this has not fixed the problem either. I am extremely confused as this has come right out the blue (similar to John) and I don't really know what else to try?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Martyn

2020-03-25T03:30:51+00:00 Hi JohnAdamek,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having an intermittent connection issue when using web browser. My name is Lee, a Windows 10 Independent Advisor.
To be honest, this is a bit strange because it only happens with Chrome and IE even after re-installing them. Have you consider temporary suspending your antivirus (not only the Kaspersky firewall but the Antivirus itself) and test of the same problem persist? Based on the symptoms, to me it looks like there is something that prevents webpage to load and I am suspecting it is the Kaspersky antivirus. So try to turn off the entire thing, test it, just bring it back on if same problem arise and reply back with the result, I will respond as quickly as possible for the next step. Thank you and have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Lee L.
