hi, my computer is having an issue where it loads up until the lock screen, i enter my password, and then after saying “welcome” for 20~ minutes (much longer thwn the typical few seconds), it shows my wallpaper and stops loading. no apps, no search bar, no internet options. nothing.

ive tried pressing a bunch of buttons to get to troubleshooting mode, which none have worked. pressing shift + restart just freezes my computer for a little until bumping me back to the time and date on rhe lock screen. i tried creatinf a recovery drive, but my laptop isnt reacting to it.

anyone know a workaround? i cant even figure oit whats wrong with my computer cause i cant get in. its an acer swift with windows 10.

edit: i tried plugging the recovery drive back in after the wallpaper loaded and it says “the instruction at “0x00007FFC6ED058A7 referenced memory at 0x000000000000. the memory could not be read”

also, i managed to right click for the first time. creating a folder says “error 0x800FFFF: catastrophic failure”

I'd recommend starting in Recovery mode to see if Windows requires repairing. To do that, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds until the PC turns off. The press the power button again so it begins to start. As soon as you see a sign that the PC is starting the boot process, like seeing the manufacturer's logo, press and hold the power button again for 10 second until the PC turns off a second time. Repeat this process one more time, pressing the power button for 10 seconds until the PC turns off as soon as you see an indication that it is rebooting.

Now, press the power button one more time and Windows will enter the Windows Recovery Environment. Select Troubleshoot. Then select "Advanced options", then "Startup Settiings", then "Restart". Once the PC restarts, you should get multiple options, one of which is the option to enable Safe Mode (Option 5 or F5). Here's an article describing this process: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/...

    Hi PatrickShea2,

    I’m Rey, your Independent Advisor.

Let me continue the troubleshooting to get you to safe boot.

Since you mentioned that you're unable to see anything but goes inside Windows system, that's good already.

    Follow the steps below:

    1. Now try to press CTRL+ALT+Del and open Task manager.
    2. Once you're in Task Manager, click File at top and Select
    3. Type MSCONFIG
    4. in system configuration, select boot tab, and put a check mark for "Safe boot>Network".
    5. Then hit apply okay and restart PC.

Once you're in safe mode, you may create a new admin account from there.

You may create also by the CMD command, use the link below:
