Windows 10 pro 64 bit can't find an audio driver

Windows 10 pro 64 bit can't find an audio driver, windows 10 home 64 bit can find the audio driver. On both systems when I power up the new USB 2 device it is added to the device manager as Other devices -> SY-1000. On Win10 home I right click on SY-1000 and select Update driver and it updates the driver. With Win10 pro I right click on SY-1000 and select Update driver and it says

Windows was unable to install your SY-1000.

Windows could not find drivers for your device.

How do I debug this?

Hi SZ. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

Updating drivers from the Device Manager or Windows Update is rarely enough. The most basic thing we need to learn to maintain a PC is keep the latest manufacturer's drivers installed from their Support Downloads web page.

Update your drivers and BIOS/UEFI firmware from PC or motherboard maker's Support Downloads web page, using the full model number, Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu. Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. If you will wait to choose if I resolved your problem, I will keep working with you until it's resolved.

Did you read what I wrote? There i also a driver there to try which appears to be different than the one you have and might work better.

The link you pointed to is a firmware update to the device which I already applied. Thanks anyway.

I had asked you not to rate my post as not resolving your problem until I had the chance to help you further. Now I have a bad rating on the thread, but will continue to try to help you to try to get the bad mark reversed.

Then there are a few other ways to try to find drivers if the manufacturer is not updating them which they often don't do to force us to buy newer hardware.

What is the exact make and model of the Sound controller so we can do a proper search of the adapter maker's site and other possible sources? Include the present driver version and date. There is more about how to trace this information if it's not included under Hardware ID here:

I upgraded to win10 over the holidays (Dec 2019) from win7.1 and updated everything at that time. The problem is that Win10 pro is not updating the driver (it can't find it) and the manufacturer has not supplied downloadable drivers.
