Wifi not visible at all in Network/Internet Settings...No connections available

Soon after replacing my laptop battery, I have totally lost the ability to even detect an available wifi connection on my home network. My other computer, my kindle, & phones all work fine. Im using an HP ENVY running Windows 10.

I have tried:

Removing said battery (if its even the problem idk...) waiting 10 mins replacing & rebooting

running all factory troubleshooters- (says plug in ethernet cable)

updating drivers (says i have the latest)

command prompt ping (sent 4 signals none lost)

screwing around with power settings

device manager enabling/disabling network adapters

restarting router

system restore (unsuccessful)

I am comparing the network adapters from the computer that has wifi working with the ENVY computer that does not have wifi working in Device Manager & have noticed differences.

HP ENVY Computer (no wifi abilities) network adapters listed like this:

Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #5 --GREYED OUT only visible in hidden view

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #6--GREYED OUT only visible in hidden view

Ralink RT5390R 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter--GREYED OUT only visible in hidden view

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Unaffected Computer with wifi network adapters listed like this:

Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless- AC 3168

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Anyone with suggestions on how to proceed and what to try next? Thanks in advance if someone tries to be of assistance.

    No Wi-Fi toggle switch.

Fn + Wireless key F12 does not work.

Uninstalled Ralink Adapter & rebooted. Did not work.

Under "Network Connections" there are no connections other than ethernet. Nothing else visible.

When I click "Show Available Networks" under Status- There are none.

Under "Settings" --"View Your Network Properties" there are 2 wi-fi adapters listed:

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #5       and.....

Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #6

    Status of both: Not Present

    Connectivity of both: Disconnected

I do not know if this is helpful or not.

On toolbar there is an icon of a globe with a prohibited symbol (for unavailable) not a wi-fi strength signal as normal. When clicked- no options come up for networks only airplane mode is visible and is off.

Please try updating the latest wifi driver from the manufacture's support website. Please visit support.hp.com and then search for the exact model of your laptop. If that didn't work you need to check the BIOS and see if the wireless device has been disabled there, if it is please enable it and reboot. And also you can Reload the BIOS to Defaults. Please see this link on how to do that.

    Hi Ms_Smith,

I am here to help you with this issue. It looks like that your Wifi Device has been disabled. Can you please check if you have any Wireless Switch on your Envy that you can toggle? If none please check if you have any Wireless icon on your Functions keys, if there is then you can turn it on by press FN and the equivalent Function key with wireless icon. If it doesn't work see if you can Right click the Ralink RT5390R 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter then click Properties, then click on the Driver tab then click on Uninstall, make sure you click on the Remove the device box then click Okay then reboot. If that doesn't work please visit support.hp.com and download the latest driver for your wireless adapter. Please let me know if it works. Thanks!
