LibreOffice Writer document is locked/read only. How can I edit this document?

I am using this program for the first time. I created a document two days ago and now trying to access to complete and the document is locked and the only access is Read Only. How can I access to complete my work? Thank you.

    For some reason when W10 updates many of my files get changed to "read only..." very frustrating. What I do is to close the file, right click on it in explorer, at the bottom of the drop down menu is properties. Open properties. There should be near the bottom of the "General" tab a read only box with a check mark. remove the check mark, hit apply. Close and try opening the file. Good luck.

    PS I suspect someone has changed to read only to prevent updates from destroying files but has not figured out how to remove the read only attribute after the update is complete.

    PPS Windows will not let me download LibreOffice.

    You have Windows Defender installed on Windows 10. It's perfectly adequate protection.
