Pc starting but no power/signal to keyboard, mouse or monitor

Hi,

So I've had my gaming pc for a while now.

It runs fine but recently did a factory reset and followed this guide afterwards;ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJTCwSX9Ym8&list=WL&index=5&t=0s it was fine and so I left it on just downloading a game a few days later, nothing unusual. I came back to it on but no signal on monitor and no power to keyboard and mouse. I've tried going back to a restore point before following the youtube video and still not working so I don't think that's the problem.

Operating System - Windows 10

Device - Zoostorm Computer

Specs -

ProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz

Video CardNVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

Video Card #2NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

RAM16 GB

Operating SystemWindows 10

But it had been working fine, the only thing I could think of is if I had a pre-existing virus or something that was causing this but surely that would've done this sooner. Anyway, right now when I turn my pc off it does the above again, power to the pc but no keyboard or mouse power and no signal to keyboard. I have figured out that if I take one stick of RAM out (I have two 8gb RAM) and start it up on just one it all boots up and powers everything fine. I then it off, insert the other stick of RAM and start it up again and it works. But then I power it off at the end of the day and have to repeat those steps again the next morning. This has been happening for a week-ish now and it's just getting time consuming and annoying to do everyday.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, Lewis.

    Hi, LewisRandles

My name is Evelyn and I am an Independent Advisor. I would be happy to help you today.

Try entering Safe Mode to repair Windows.

To activate the automatic repair mode, you must interrupt the normal boot process three or more consecutive times: use the reset or power button on your Windows 10 PC to stop it during startup, before you finish loading Windows 10. Yes use the power button, you may have to hold it down for at least 5 seconds to force the power off

If this does not work try the other way: force power off, press and hold the power switch for 20 seconds, then wait for ten and restart

Then you proceed to repair the computer:

With a restart, all your installed applications are lost, but you have the option to save your files if you wish. If there is an OEM system image, called a recovery partition, it also offers you the option to restore it. It would cause your PC to load to factory default settings.

Go to the Troubleshooting section, again.

    Select Reset.

If you choose to keep my files, your files will be preserved. You can also get the third option: restore factory settings, which is not applicable on the PC.

After selecting the desired options, you will be presented with a confirmation, something like this: this indicates what you have chosen.

Click Reset and the reset will begin.

If after the previous steps you cannot recover Windows.

You can repair Windows download the ISO:

I recommend you borrow a PC to create a USB to repair Windows

That you take it out for 20 minutes and then put the same battery back, all this in order to completely reset the BIOS.

    Hi Evelyn,

I really appreciate your reply and advice.. I've actually tried restarting/resetting/factory resetting the pc already and there still appears to be issues.

I've posted this same article on a few forums and suspect now that it may be a problem with my PSU.

    Okay thank you.

Just to clarify, you recommend I just take the battery out for 20 minutes and then put it back in?

Or, that I take the battery out and replace it with a new one after 20 minutes?

I recommend you remove the internal battery from the PC for about 20 minutes after replacing it and then I recommend you repair Windows completely.

I recommend you to completely repair Windows before you have to make a copy of your personal files
