I can see multiple powerpoint files in the folder. Why do none show up in search results? 7 did not have this problem.
Same goes for searching by size and date modified. In 7's file explorer I could just type and get results.
Have also used: .ppt, .pptx, pptx, powerpoint.
Have tried the 'Current folder' and 'All subfolders' options.

I have tried manually hitting the enter key and clicking the little blue arrow.
I tried typing in "kind:ppt" and that showed only a few results.
Typed "kind:*.pptx" about 4 minutes ago and it's still "Working on it..." (with no results).
Typed "*.ppt" and that showed results. So, looks like I have to type something different to find things.
Can Microsoft maybe, um, FIX THE FILE EXPLORER SEARCH? It was pretty crucial to me doing my job before.
How did they think this was a good update? Are they trying to make Windows less and less functional, because it sure seems so.
Also, how can search be this slow...
Thanks DaveM121.
Hi 7waswaybetter
To be honest, in version 1903 of Windows 10, I think Microsoft broke the search function in File Explorer and it was not fixed in version 1909, searching in File Explorer is so hit and miss since that update . . .
You now must manually hit enter after entering any search criteria . ..
If you search for *.ppt or if you search for *.pptx and hit Enter, does that produce the correct result . . .
