how do I hide the tool bar temporarily?

    What toolbar? Are you perhaps referring to the Task Bar at the bottom of the page?

    If so it has an option to auto-hide so it goes away until you move your mouse there. Go into Windows Settings > Personalization > Task Bar and choose Automatically Hide the TaskBar.
