I have the same issue as this guy here. The issue is still unsolved, the dropdown box is still missing. On my PC it is working but on my Surface it isn't.

Hi kuyaya,

yes, a "half" idea I would have it: Virtual Box has nothing to do with it, in my opinion the latest versions of Windows 10 need to "see" at least 2 network interfaces in the system, in addition to the one connected to the internet, to to be able to make the drop-down menu box appear. If there is only one network interface, the choice does not arise, it is unambiguous, obligatory towards that only available interface, in the sense that it is not possible to choose others. If instead there are at least 2 network interfaces, then the system offers you the possibility to choose either one or the other interface. If my thesis is correct, if on the PC where ICS has always worked, you uninstall one of the 2 network interfaces, Ethernet Realtek PCIe or the one related to Vrtual Box, keeping only one active, probably also on that PC you will not see the menu descent.

    Hey, sorry for my delay

Yes, you were absolutely right. You have to have at least 2 adapters besides your wifi. I tried it on my PC where it did work before, and disabled one of the adapters. Then the dropdown menu was gone. Then I enabled it and the dropdown menu appeared again.

Thank you very very much for helping me with my issue. I'm glad it's finally solved.

    Clarified everything.

Probably on the 1903 version it is no longer possible to activate ICS to wired devices even if this service is still present in the system.

I also have the 1903 version and I don't see the drop-down menu if I try to enable ICS on my wi-fi connection.

I suggest sending a request to the Feedback Hub.

In the meantime, check the Firewall settings on the Surface if there is any rule regarding the ICS service. Then make sure that the network on the Surface is set as Private Network.

Perform the same check on the PC Firewall.

I want to share connection with my ethernet 2. I can do that on my PC (win10 home) by going on properties -> Sharing and there is a dropdown menu where I can select Ethernet 2 for sharing. It's not a hotspot for my Phone or something. On my Surface, the dropdown box is missing.

What type of Hotspot are you trying to activate on the Surface, Hotspot Mobile or Hosted Network? And what is the operating system of the other PC where the hotspot works? And what kind of Hotspot did you set up on that pc?
