Hi kokinoman
Here is how to set up OneDrive, and yes, once you have that setup, syncing is automatic and will ensure copies of your files on your PC and on the cloud

Hi,
Old posts seem to point to the fact that it is not possible to keep files in synch by simultaneously saving / updating them, to both the Computer and the Cloud, by one simultaneous action - is this still the case?
i.e. the only way is to save files to each drive individually, thus running the risk of them not always being in synch.
Or, has the situation changed whereby simultaneous saving is now possible, and if so how is this done please?

Hi kokinoman
The way OneDrive works best is as follows:
You save your files locally to your user library folders (Documents, Pictures, . . .etc.)
Then you set OneDrive to Sync those user library folders to the Cloud
That way your files will be kept in Sync, you will have a local copy and a copy backed up to the cloud . . .
Hi Dave,
Many thanks for this information.
My query is though, how do I "set OneDrive to Sync those user library folders to the Cloud", as I cannot see how to do this?
When completed, will this action result in fully automatic updates, or is it a single 'pull through' action, that will need regular manual such actions at frequent intervals for each file, to ensure that both sets of files are in synch?
My files are generally saved locally to my PC, with some saved to OneDrive, but updates to files in one location do not sync automatically to the other location!
I have opened OneDrive, and looked through the Settings, but can't make out how to establish this routine!
Can you possibly outline the detailed steps to be taken, to achieve your suggestion, as I am 74 years young, and whilst reasonably capable, I am not a 'techie' by any stretch of the imagination?
Many thanks
Roger (kokinoman)
