Always move deleted files to recycle bin

Greetings All,

When I want to delete a file,  or multiple files at once, I don't want file explorer to permanently delete it, I want them to always go to the recycle bin. Is there a setting or any way to turn off the "permanently delete" feature?

    Hi jjlongiii

It depends, if those files are on a flash drive, then the files will be deleted permanently, because a flash dive cannot have a Recycle bin folder on it.

If you are deleting files form a hard drive, and they are being deleted permanently, right click your Recycle Bin and choose Properties, is 'Permanently delete files . . .' ticked?

Right click on Recycle Bin (either on your Desktop, or in File Explorer); choose Properties; then click on Custom size: then Apply.
