I opened my computer to see my discord just grey and tried to end it and it didn't work. I then went into task manager and it still didn't work saying access denied. I didn't know what to do so i opened discord again and it worked fine but the other one was still there. It has been getting in my way and I cant end it. I used command prompt as administrator and it still responded with access denied. I don't know if this is a virus or something else like that but I have no clue what to do.

Hi TB. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 year Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator here to help you.

See the fixes for Access Denied here:

http://www.eassos.com/how-to/how-to-fix-access-...

https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-access-denied...

https://windowsreport.com/access-is-denied-wind...

Type Controlled Folder Access into Start Search, right click result to Run as Administrator, turn off Folder Access.

Try this:

Right click Start button to open Run box, copy and paste in netplwiz, press Enter.

Highlight your account, then click Properties, then Group Membership tab. click on Administrator, then Apply, OK, restart PC.

If that doesn't help then try this: https://www.kapilarya.com/fix-lost-administrati...

If nothing helps try creating a new Local Admin Account to sign into to see if it works: http://www.howtogeek.com/226540/how-to-create-a...

If you can't get the rights to do this then use whichever method works here to enable the hidden Built-in Administrator to be used only in emergencies:

https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2969-enable...

Enable Hidden Administrator Account in Windows 10 without Login – iSumsoft

Sign into Hidden Admin account, set up new Local Admin Account in Settings > Accounts > Family & Other People, sign into it, move your files over, set it up, hide the Hidden Admin Account, when ready delete the old account in Settings > Accounts > Family and Other Users.

You may need to create bootable media to access Repair Mode Command Prompt or Reset, or do the Clean install:

To create Windows 10 Installation Media on another PC install Media Creation Tool and follow the directions here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... Uncheck the box for Recommended Settings to choose the exact version and bit rate for the target PC only.

Insert media, boot it by powering up PC while pressing the BIOS Boot Menu Key: https://www.sysnative.com/forums/hardware-tutor...

If the media won't boot you may need to enter BIOS/UEFI Setup (pressing key given in chart in link above) to turn off Fast Boot or Fast Startup first.

Choose the boot device as a UEFI device if offered, on second screen choose Repair Your Computer, then Advanced Troubleshoot Options, then System Restore. If that fails go back to Troubleshoot Options to try a Reset.

If that fails choose Install Now, then Custom Install, then at the drive selection screen delete all partitions down to Unallocated Space to get it cleanest, click Next to let it create needed partitions and start install - this makes it foolproof. Everything needed to get the best possible Clean Install is here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki.... It is a better install than any amount of money can buy and a great learning experience that will make you the master of your PC because you will learn what works best and how to apply it with your own hands.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
