    These devices usually do not require drivers as these are already provided by Windows.

    Is there a problem with the PC ‘seeing’ the drive?

    Does it appear under My PC?

    Does it show under Device manager?

    Usually all that is required is to connect the external drive to the PC with the included USB cable & Windows should pick up the drive automatically.

    The optical drive was plugged into the laptop, so Irestarted the system as I was advised.
