My Windows 10 PC isn't recognizing iPod Nano 2nd Gen. at all

Hi,

I have an Apple iPod Nano 2 Gen. (Silver), and I want to add some songs in it.

When I connected it to my PC through it's charger USB Cable, it was not recognized at all - even the sound which plays when a USB is inserted didn't play. I can't see the Device in Device Manager, I installed iTunes, and it didn't recognize the device too (obviously).

I also made sure that my iPod is completely charged, and I tried plugging it in every single USB Port in my PC to see if it works, that didn't work too.

What could be wrong?

Thanks! :)

    Hello KartikTambi,

I do apologize of the above steps did not work for you. Here's another one lets try to uninstall the driver from the device Manager Instead by following these steps.

    * Try to right click your START button and go to DEVICE MANAGER.

    * Go to Universal Serial Bus Controller.

    * Right Click the one with APPLE in it and select uninstall device.

    * Restart the PC for the changes to take effect.

    * Plugin your phone back and mark it is TRUSTED DEVICE and lets see if the PC will now be able to detect it.

    Hi, Paul!

    Thanks for your reply :)

Unfortunately, the steps didn't help - again the same is happening... No connecting sound, nothing in device manager & My PC; Also, I see no changes in my computer, even after plugging the iPod in every USB Port on my CPU.

I re-installed iTunes from Microsoft Store, as you said & re-started several times in between.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot! :)

    Hello KartikTambi,

My Name is Paul one of the Community Experts. I am sorry that you are having issues with your Ipod connecting it to your PC.

Lets try to Uninstall 2 Applications first from Apple under programs and features.

    1. Apple Mobile Device Support
    2. I-Tunes.

After the un-installation. Kindly Reboot the Device for the changes to take effect and reinstall I-Tunes using this Link

Once done kindly perform another reboot and let me know if the above solution worked for you.
