Hi everyone, yesterday my laptop shutdown for the first time while I was gaming and then I immediately turned it on and checked the heat levels and my cpu was 83 °C, so I checked the event log and saw those two event logs that were created around the time of the shutdown. Can you help me to understand what was the reason behind the shutdown? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I bought this laptop one month ago and I wonder do you think that this one time overheating/shutdown damaged any components or is it normal.

My specs:

Intel Coffee Lake i7-9750H

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Ram: 8 GB

    Hi, thanks for helping.

No, I did not receive a blue screen

    No, there are no changes

    I have Windows 10 home

No, I have not overclocked my computer

I bought this laptop a month ago so I do not think there is an hardware problem, and my laptop hasn't shutdown again ever since and It had not ever shutdown before that. It was only a one time thing. The reason why I posted here even though, there was only one shutdown event is I wanted to know if it is because something I did, so I can avoid it.

I was playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance at the time and as I've heard there are some problems with the game since the last update, because some other users also experienced the same issues according to forums. So, maybe the reason was the firmware/software misbehaving?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that the computer shutdown while you were playing games on the computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    • Do you receive a Blue Screen error when the computer shuts down?
    • Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?
    • Have you overclocked the CPU?

The Event error 41 occurs when the system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. The Event error 6008 occurs when the previous system shutdown at Time on Date was unexpected.

This can happen if any hardware has gone bad or if any hardware driver or firmware is misbehaving.

If you are receiving a Blue Screen error, I would suggest you to share the dump files so that we can analyze them and get to the root cause of the issue. To share the files Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, upload the files to OneDrive and share the OneDrive link.

You may also want to refer the steps mentioned in the article Troubleshoot blue screen errors.

If you have done Overclocking on the computer, I suggest you to reset the computer to default state and see if that makes a difference.

You may also want to run a Windows Memory Diagnostic check on the computer to test the memory installed on the computer. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows logo key + R, to open Run dialog box.
    2. Type mdsched and click on OK.
    3. Click on Restart now and check for problems.

For more information, see Advanced troubleshooting for Event ID 41: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" and How to troubleshoot an Event ID 6008 "The previous system shutdown at Time on Date was unexpected."

Let us know how it goes.
