Where can I find the drivers to reinstall HID-compliant touch screen as an option in HID in Device Manager?

I have an ACER UT241Y touch screen monitor which is connected via HDMI to a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit mini PC.

The touch screen isn't working and all of the support threads I've read point to the "HID-compliant touch screen" option in the Human Interface Devices list in Device Manager.

Problem is, I don't have an "HID-compliant touch screen" option in the Human Interface Devices list in Device Manager.

How do I get it back?

Thank you.

    Hi,

ACER eventually let us know that we needed to connect the monitor, as well as with the HDMI cable we were using, with a USB-C cable also.

This is not mentioned in the manual for this monitor, nor did anyone at ACER support let us know this through lengthy e-mail correspondence with them.  It was only when ACER had us return the item to them for testing that they decided to impart that knowledge.

We won't be purchasing ACER products again.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards

    NJ

Unfortunately the Acer website lists the touchscreen as being compatible with Windows 7 only:

The touchscreen function is only supported by Windows 7, which already includes all the necessary drivers. If you are prompted to install additional drivers, the computer is running a different version of Windows that does not offer support for this function.

Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Which Windows version are you running - 1809, 1903 or 1909?

It may be hidden, try looking under device manager>file>show hidden devices.

Have you downloaded the drivers from the PC’s or Acer’s/Monitor website?

    Corrected via the forum.

We bought this device from eBuyer.com, who (conveniently?) didn't mention any compatibility issues with Windows 10.  We actually feel a bit duped now.

When you say that the ACER website states that the monitor requires USB and a video cable rather than HDMI, will that mean that it will then be compatible with Windows 10?

ACER support eventually came back and said "It should work with an HDMI connection".  It doesn't.

ACER haven't been helpful at all.  Months to respond and, when they finally did respond, they'd just pasted support advice from a website somewhere and it was completely irrelevant.

I'm guessing that ACER are a company that are best avoided.  Wish we'd known this sooner.

Thanks for your advice.  Appreciate it.

    Regards

Hi Virginia.  Thank you for your reply.

    Windows version 1909

HID-compliant touch screen does not appear under 'show hidden devices'

Have downloaded the drivers from ACER, yes.
