What exactly you need to "clean" on a fresh installed windows?

    It's a nonsense.

If you want your PC to stay as fresh and as clean as possible avoid:

    1. Registry cleaners
    2. Driver updaters
    3. system tweak tools
    4. 3rd party antiviruses
    5. file system cleaners
    6. Uninstaller software
    7. Pirated games/software
    8. Installing too many and non-needed programs

Copy this list to your notepad and make a backup of it, as a reminder,

this are your golden rules for fast and clean PC.

If you are asking about the Disk Cleanup that comes with Windows, yes, it's fine. It's the third-party "tools" you should stay away from.

Regarding cleaning up "junk," let me make two points:

    1. If you carefully avoid getting the junk, you don't have to worry about cleaning it up.
    2. If you have a hard disk of reasonable size, not one of the tiny ones that so many people unfortunately have these days, you don't have to worry about getting rid of the "junk". With every rare exceptions, it doesn't hurt you in any way other than to use up a little of your disk space.

There is no such thing as good PC cleaner software. It is all useless and dangerous: more likely to cause problems than to solve them.

    Avoid all such software.

    Hi,

I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

Programs that pretend to clean computers may affect the functionality in the long run. Storage sense is enough to clean up things IMO.

CCleaner does the job well, but make sure do not clean the registry using it.

Then how do you keep your pc cleaned up from junk that might be on it?  I have been using disc cleanup, and it seems to be fine.  Should I continue with this?
