Use Laptop internal built-in mic

Hello,

I have a pair of headphones that have no mic in them. I was wondering if it was possible to use my laptops internal built-in mic while the my headphones are plugged in (basically audio comes from the headphones, but I use the laptop's mic). My laptop has a single 3.5mm headphone jack. I remember being able to do this on my old computer but not my new one

Thank you!

    Hello Minimartzz,

    Please check the methods below:

Open Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Realtek HD Audio Manager.

    Control Panel

In Realtek Audio Manager, select "Device advanced settings" in the top right.

Select "Separate all input jacks as independent devices" and click OK.

(If you don't see an option to separate jacks, you may need to update your Realtek Audio drivers.)

    Device advanced settings

Open Control Panel → Hardware and Sound → Sound → Recording

Set your internal microphone as the default recording device.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further concerns.

    Sincerely
