How to I flip my screen both Horizontally and Vertically

I am trying to use one of my screens in a teleprompter. I see that there is an option is display settings to flip by screen horizontally or vertically but not both at the same time. When I search I see the TelePrompter App but that is when you want to display the script within Telepromoter but I want to display PowerPoint or my team's video streams using Teams.

How can I flip my screen both horizontally and vertically at the same time to use within a teleprompter?

Thank you for responding. I appreciate your willingness to help.

I could well be being stupid here. It's a personality trait of mine!

I need the mirror image of the screen. This means that the type needs to be back to front. I have attached an image to help you understand my challenge. I am not looking to rotate the screen but flip it so that the text can be read in a mirror.

    Hi Eric

    This is a free solution...

Microsoft windows does not have that function you are looking for but Chrome does. So what you will need to do is is to make an artificial second screen in chrome. So you will have two screens, the one you use and the side screen. To do that this is what you will need to do:

    1. Download and install chrome if you havent done so. Know and be proficient about using extensions.
    2. Add an extension called "flip this". This will flip the second screen horizontally and vertically or both.
    3. Add another extension called "Open as pop up". This will make your second screen indipendent from chrome and minimize browser clutter.

    4. Download spacedesk from https://spacedesk.net/ and install

    5. Now go to **http://viewer.spacedesk.net/** That green screen you now see its your second screen.

    6. Obtain your private IP address. A shorter way is to install an extension called "IP address finder" You will realise that your IP changes when you move connection locations so it will come in very handy.

    1. Connect, choose extend displays in Windows display settings and voala! you have a second screen inside your native screen.
    2. Move the teleprompter program to the second screen by dragging it there.
    3. Press Flip and play around it's settings.
    4. Press Open as pop up to have an independent second screen free of the web browser clutter.

I hope this helps and God bless you!

"I could well be being stupid here." - not at all, unless we both are :)

there is often a confusion between flip and rotate, a flip will give a mirror image of the monitor, rotate spins it around the centre point.

you mentioned you had a method to flip (mirror) the monitor, you then only need to rotate the image so that when it is seen in the teleprompter mirror it is correct.

if you do not have a method to flip the display,

ultramon will provide this option, unfortunately it is not free but does provide a 30 day trial

    https://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

if the content is web based (and you have edge chromium) you could try the following google chrome extension (works in google chrome too)

open edge chromium, click the ellipsis(...) and select extensions

at the bottom of the left panel, turn on "allow extensions from other stores"

then get this extension from google

    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mirro...

click the "add to chrome" button

it should then add to edge chromium

if you don't have the new edge chromium you can get it from

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge

(it will replace the current version of edge)

hope that makes sense, please let me know how you get on

    Hi Trey,

Unfortunately not. It was a frustrating ordeal that I had to eventually give up.

There was a suggestion that sounded promising. But it required that I install some video drivers which made me nervous. I am not a tech, and I do not have much IT support, and said the idea of installing video drivers from a third-party did not make sense for me.

Microsoft support could not even understand the question and so I gave up on them as well.

I have still found the teleprompter useful to be able to look into the camera while watching people on Zoom an Team calls. Although the video is reversed, from left to right, it’s still improves the quality of the conversation as I do not have to look away from the camera to see peoples reactions. It kind of works.

With the rise of video conferencing I sincerely hope that Microsoft understand the issue and fix it.

I am sorry that i couldnt be more helpful. If you do find a way of resolving this I would appreciate a note.

    Good luck!

    Eric

    Hi EricShepherd

are you sure you want to flip both ways, that would be the same as rotating through 180 degrees.

try flipping horizontal then rotate it by 180 degrees (ctrl+alt+down arrow)
