How do I shorten the pointer travel so that the pointer travels a shorter distance when mouse moves?

    Hi Fred

    Open the old Control Panel (click your Start Button, then just typ control and press Enter)

    At the top right of Control Panel, set view to icons

    Click the Mouse icon

    On the resulting dialog, choose the Pointer Options Tab

    At the top of that tab is a slider for speed of the pointer, that will also adjust the distance of the pointer on screen compared to mouse movement . . .

    Dave, your advice was 'spot on'.  Worked great.  Previously I was using the 'speed' adjustment.
