Hi
I have a Win10 desktop running 1909 v18363.752 and an ASUS F2A85-M motherboard with on board Realtek® ALC887 8-Channel High
Definition Audio CODEC. The motherboard was original being used for Win 7.
The other details are
Cambridge Sound works 5 speakers ONBOARD 8 CHANNEL (7.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
The desktop tower has a green connector and a black connector for the sound on the motherboard and with the supplied lead (2x green and 2 x black jacks)I have put
one set of ends into tower motherboard connections in the respective jacks and one set into the subwoofer black and green jacks. I have ran a speaker test from within the configure area of sounds in Win10 and on the 7.1 speaker setting I hear from all speakersbut
when listening to internet radio, cd from built in cd drive I only hear from 2 speakers (satellites and subwoofer but if i unplug the BLACK Jack connector from the subwoofer I get all 5 speakers working (4 satellite and subwoofer). This is a strange one and
has me baffled. I would normally leave Win10 to install appropriate drivers but it seems they are well out of date so I have used a driver checker and they are now updated to best available.
Any help welcome. I have checked the double ended lead and it is working and nothing is greyed out on the Realtek Audio Manager to suggest any issues.
Thanks
Steve
