Enable Touchscreen on Windows 10

I do not use the Touchscreen for personal reasons, so when I purchased my HP laptop I disabled it when I customized the settings.  That was a few years ago.

I now need the Touchscreen to create an electronic signature, but cannot find it in the Device Manager, which is where all suggestions are pointing me.

When I open up Human Interface Devices, there are only 4 items listed, and none of them state Touchscreen.  Here is what's listed:  HID-compliant consumer control device; HID-compliant wireless radio controls; HP Wireless Button Driver; and USB Input Device.

Is it possible that the Touchscreen enable/disable selection is somewhere else?

    Hello TF,

You might see if you may be able to use an option in the tutorial below to enable the touchscreen.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/130057-enable-disable-touch-screen-windows-10-a.html

If HD-compliant touch screen is missing in Device Manager, then you may need to install the touchscreen drivers from HP below for your specific laptop model number.

    Hell TF_Hotmail ,

My Name is Paul one of the Community Expert and a Windows User like you. I do apologize that you are having issues with your Touchscreen Feature, upon checking the device that was indicated above yes indeed there's no HID-compliant touch screen. Did you already tried to ENABLE TABLET Mode to check if that will make the Device be visible again.

    To Enable Tablet Mode:

    * Click the Action Center/Notification Area in the Lower Right most part of your screen and enable tablet mode.

If the above steps did not work kindly provide me the Model of your HP Laptop so we can check for Drivers.

    Regards,

Thank you for your response.  I'm sorry to have wasted your time.  I read the responses I received to my inquiry, which steered me to perform more detective work.  After contacting HP, I learned I don't have a Touchscreen on this PC.  Apparently I had the capability on my previous laptop and must have got the two of them confused.

    Thanks again for your time!

    Holla! TF

For guided tutorial you can visit this link of microsoft support below:

If it doesn't work there might be changes in the updates of your PC that affect the touchscreen device. For that you can use troubleshooter or manually reinstall touchscreen driver. In reinstalling touchscreen driver make sure to visit the trusted site of HP that provides manual installer.
