Hi, I am getting a screen prompt when I startup from ClassicStartMenu.exe asking me to allow it to make changes to my system. Is this a genuine Microsoft product or a scam or worse?

    Hi Savvas,

This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about ClassicStartMenu.exe.

The genuine ClassicStartMenu.exe file is a software component of Classic Shell.

ClassicStartMenu.exe is an executable file that runs Classic Shell, a freeware program that enables Windows 10 users to transform Windows 10 interface to make it look like Windows 7. It is a 3rd party software which means that it is not a product of Microsoft.

For more information about Classic Shell, you may access this link. http://www.classicshell.net/

I hope the information I provided will help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.

    Thanks,

    Wilfred P.
