Hello Roman,
My apologies for taking so long to get back to you. I really do appreciate your advice.
I have been attempting to clean up old accounts and delete ones I am not familiar with . In doing so I came across a Microsoft Icon with an email address attached to it. I assumed it to be an old account . It required a password to proceed but I could not
remember what it was. I then tried numerous old passwords but none of them worked. I now think that what I was looking at was a Microsoft Registration Icon. I tried using "Forgot password" to get into the Account/Registration setup so I could get a security
code via an alternative web address. This worked in the sense that I was given a security code. This code however, did not allow me to proceed. It directed me to try again, which I did many times without success. I was in a loop. I have since read somewhere
that if you put incorrect passwords into such an account/registration site, the set up will not allow you to input data that enables you to proceed. You need to wait for sixty days.
My question is:
How do I found out what the icon refers to, that is, is it an old Microsoft account or a Registration form?
Is my information about having to wait sixty days correct?
I get daily reminders on my computer informing me I have problems with my Microsoft Account which requires attention. These reminders are rather annoying. When I follow the advice, I get into the situation described above (a loop that does not help me)
I am confused as to what is going on and really need direction from someone far more knowledgeable in these matters than I am.
Are you able to help?
Kindest regards and thanks,
Jon
