Hi and thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Please allow me to assist with your issue.

It is pretty normal to have 3GB of memory utilized without any programs launched.

Windows 10 64-bits needs 2GB at the minimum and if you have already installed some programs, the minimum used will definitely be more.

The summation shouldn't be too different from the total memory in use. So unless it is more than 200MB of difference, I would think it's normal.

Please let me know if I can help you further!

I am not OP, but heres the problemYou are missing the point. The point is the summation is NOT correct. In fact it is NEVER correct. Just see how many people are asking about the same thing and no one ever seemed to get an answer.

I have 8gb of ram, and task manager says 4.3gb has been used

But do the math yourself. The tasks in processes only add up to a little more than 1gb.

This is a straight up 3.3Gb difference. How do I see where ALL the tasks that used up memory?

I don't expect to get an answer, but hey, lets see what you can do
