OSK (on screen Keyboard) and Nahimic service [Solved on April 20th from Sonic Studio update]

Hello,

Before asking the question I searched a lot, but I didn't find any answer, or correct to my problem.

The virtual Keyboard does not work any more after a Microsoft update, even if I click on it, it doesn't show on screen, but the most funny is if I open a program with administrator privileges it shows on screen, when the pop-up appears asking before launch the program (see image below)

Here it is another proof of what happens from the settings

Yes, I tried to uninstall the previous Microsoft update but no changes.

Yes I searched for solutions.

Yes I tried everything I found on Microsoft community about OSK.

My PC is a Windows 10 Pro, AMD Processor, Motherboard Asus, GPU 2080 Super Nvidia.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. And if you're asking if the OSK was functioning correctly before the update on the same computer, the answer is yes.

    Hi DragonBlade1,

today morning I received a Sonic Studio update, finally OSK now is working even with the Nahimic Service being active, but it took several months before they fixed the issue (nobody answered from the Feedback Hub)

    Hello Bartdee,

No I didn't report it, as a feedback, to the hub yet, do you think it will help?

If I try to change something meanwhile I start a program on administrator mode, the pop-up will make appear the keyboard of course and I can manage also all the options included in the keyboard, but once I close it goes back as before, that means not displaying OSK on screen. That's very embarrassing to tell the truth.

If I change the settings on ease of access that will display the OSK on start when I sign in of course, but when I close the OSK we return again to the same problem (see image below)

Like I said, I suppose there is something that prevent the OSK to display once closed, like a service running in background (oh and there aren't viruses find from windows defender).

Oh and the tablet keyboard works perfectly from the taskbar (see image below)

    Hi,

Did you report this in the Feedback hub too already?

What happens if you change the setting with the pop-up OSK present situation? (The two pictures in one.)

Does this happen on Sign-in too?

What is the setting with Control Panel > Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center > Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard, Use OSK?

I hope this helps if it happens again.

    Hello Joseph.

first of all thanks for answering, after I don't think it is a problem coming from the explorer or the taskbar, otherwise the magnifying tool should not work as well from the taskbar, but it does work, as all the other programs from the taskbar, the only one not working is the OSK.

Oh well I tried what did you suggest and nothing happened, unfortunately.

But I forgot to say that even if I try to start the OSK from the menu, the result is the same (see image below), even with administrator privileges, so it is not the taskbar to me

Also I have to say on computer start, if I open the OSK it will work, but only if I open it right away within few seconds, after if I close it, it does not work any more (like if there is something that is running as a service in the background who prevent the OSK to open).

But the fact that if I run any program on administrator mode and when the pop-up appears the OSK is there, it's the proof that something is blocking the OSK to launch, the OSK itself it works, but cannot be displayed, the question is: what service is it?
