    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to get better clarity, please let us know:

    • How are you trying to update Windows?
    • Are you able to boot the computer to Desktop?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?
    • Are you using a bootable USB with Windows Image to start the computer?

If you are using a bootable USB, you may want to try performing a Startup Repair on your computer and see if that helps.

    Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Boot the computer using bootable USB.
    2. On the Install Windows screen, select Next > Repair your computer.
    3. On the System Recovery Options screen, select Troubleshoot> Advanced options > Startup Repair.
    4. Restart the PC.

Let us know the results, we will be glad to assist you further.

    Regards,
